South Korean automaker, Hyundai will soon give a mid-life makeover to its popular SUV – Creta. Besides, the company will re-introduce the Santro nameplate in the Indian market. The company will slot the new model between Grand i10 and Eon. It is quite early that the new compact car will carry the Santro badge, but reports claim that the new model will be called new gen Santro. – AMT Gearbox

The new generation Santro will be the company’s first product to feature an AMT gearbox. This will be a 5-speed unit. It is expected that the new AMT gearbox will be developed in-house by the manufacturer. Hyundai has recently phased out the popular i10 hatchback to make way for this new compact car. To be positioned between the Eon and Grand i10, the new model will come as a replacement for the i10 hatchback.

– Festive Season Launch

– Challengers – Renault Kwid 1.0L & Tata Tiago

With crossover-like looks, Hyundai is aiming to target Renault Kwid 1.0L and the Tata Tiago. If media reports are to be believed, the Korean automaker is aiming at aggressive pricing for this new model. It is likely to cost around Rs 3.5 lakh, which will make it a direct rival the Kwid 1.0L and Tiago.
