All-New Honda City ZX Leaked Brochure Reveals Key Features

We all know that the new-gen Honda City launch has been postponed due to coronavirus pandemic. The sedan is now rumoured to be launched in the country in May or June 2020. Ahead of the official launch, brochure of the all-new Honda City has been leaked on the internet. This brochure reveals the feature list of the top-spec City ZX variant.

The new-gen Honda City sedan receives a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. It will be the first car in India to be compatible with Alexa Remote. The sedan also gets app-based connectivity technology, called the Honda Connect. This will have a telematics control unit to remotely share car status details.

The sedan comes equipped with new instrument console, which comprise of an analogue speedometer and tachometer that has a 7.0-inch, HD, full-colour MID. It also gets a G-meter, which is common feature in supercars like the Nissan GT-R. It comes with multi-functional steering wheel with controls for audio system, bluetooth telephony and cruise control. Instead of touch unit, the climate control system now has rotary knobs. The sedan will continue to offer the powered sunroof.

The report claims that the City ZX will sport padded materials on the dashboard to offer premium and upmarket feel. The brochure reveals that the fifth-gen City will be the longest and the widest in its category, which ensures segment-leading cabin space.

In terms of safety and security, the all-new Honda City ZX gets six airbags, traction control, electronic stability programme and hill-start assist. The new model also gets low-tyre-pressure warning system and three-point seatbelts for the rear middle passengers. This variant also gets LED headlamps and LED tail-lights.

Similar to the Civic sedan, the all-new Honda City comes equipped with Honda’s Lane Watch camera. There will be a camera on the left ORVM that will show the feed to the centre screen. It also gets reverse camera along with rear parking sensors.

The all-new Honda City will be offered with 2 BSVI compliant engines – a 119bhp, 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 99bhp, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. For the first time, the diesel City will be offered with a CVT gearbox. This will be similar to the Amaze diesel CVT; however, it is early to comment whether the power and torque figures will be dropped or not. The new City will be positioned slightly premium over the competition. It is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
