Several new car launches have been planned for the next couple of weeks. Here’re key details of the top 4 new cars, SUVs, which are ready to hit roads in coming days.
Honda City Hybrid – 14th April (Debut)
Honda City Hybrid is surely one of the much-awaited car launches of this year. The sedan will make its India debut on 14th April and its market launch will happen in May 2022. It will come with a 1.5L naturally aspirated Atkinson Cycle petrol engine paired with two electric motors. The City Hybrid is likely to deliver fuel efficiency of around 25-26kmpl, thus making it the most frugal petrol car in the country. It will be offered with Honda Sensing ADAS technology along with several other features.
New Maruti Ertiga – 15th April
Maruti Suzuki will announce prices of the new 2022 Maruti Ertiga facelift on coming 15th April. The MPV is likely to witness a few design and feature upgrades including a new grille, slightly revised bumpers and new upholstery. Interestingly, the new Ertiga will be the first Maruti Suzuki to receive the new 1.5L K15C Dualjet petrol engine that will be 10bhp more powerful than the existing K15B motor. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (replacing the existing 4-speed manual unit).
Tata Nexon EV – 20th April
Tata Motors will introduce the updated Nexon EV on 20th April 2022. Major update will be made to its powertrain. The new 2022 Tata Nexon EV will come with the larger 40kWh battery pack that will promise a range of around 400km. At present, the electric SUV comes with a 30.2kWh battery pack offering ARAI-claimed range of 312km on a single charge. The automaker will also equip a few new equipment including electronic stability control, cruise control, ventilated seat and selectable regen modes. The new Nexon EV with bigger battery will be sold alongside the existing 30.2kWh battery model.
New Maruti XL6 – 21st April
The new Maruti Suzuki XL6 facelift is slated to launch on 21st April 2022. The MPV will witness a new cosmetic tweaks and feature upgrades along with a more powerful engine. Similar to the new Ertiga, the 2022 Maruti XL6 will employ the new 1.5L K15C Dualjet petrol engine with the 5-speed manual and new 6-speed automatic gearbox options. Some of its design changes will be similar to the Indonesia-spec XL6 including the larger alloy wheels. Interior might get an updated infotainment system along with the new upholstery and a few new features.
Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo – In Late April
Reports suggest that Skoda Auto will announce prices of the Kushaq Monte Carlo Edition towards the end of April 2022. The new edition will get gloss black treatment on the front grille, skid plates, front bumper inserts, wing mirrors and badges. The Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo Edition will have a new digital instrument cluster borrowed from the Slavia sedan. It will have red accents on the dashboard, centre console and doors and dual-tone red and black upholstery. Based on the range-topping Style trim, the SUV’s Monte Carlo Edition will be available with both 1.0L and 1.5L TSI petrol engines.
