Tata Gravitas

Tata Gravitas Auto Expo 2020

Tata Motors will launch the Gravitas 6-seater SUV in the second quarter of this year. Based on the Harrier SUV, the Tata Gravitas will directly rival the Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming MG Hector Plus. It measures 4,661mm in length and 1,786mm in height and has a width of 1,894mm. The SUV is 63mm longer and 80mm taller than the Harrier, though the wheelbase remains the same at 2741mm. Powering the Gravitas is a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine producing 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

New Mahindra XUV500

Homegrown UV maker, Mahindra will launch the much-awaited new generation XUV500 in the second half of this year. It will be based on the new monocoque platform, which will also underpin the upcoming Ford C-SUV. The new model will receive comprehensive design changes and all-new interior. It will be offered with 2 new BSVI compliant engines – a 190bhp, 2.0-litre mStallion petrol and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.

MG Hector Plus Launch

Unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo, the MG Hector Plus 6-seater SUV will be launched in our market in mid-2020 – around June-July. It will directly rival the XUV500 and the Gravitas. The SUV looks largely identical to the Hector, except for the new grille and new headlamp and tail-lamp set-up. Engine setup of the new MG Hector Plus 6-seater SUV includes the same 1.5L petrol with 48V mild-hybrid setup, 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel motor, carried over from the 5-seater Hector. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.
