3 New Maruti Suzuki Cars Ready To Launch in 2020

Maruti Suzuki India kick started this year with the launch of the new Vitara Brezza petrol, which was followed by the Ignis and Dzrie facelifts. The carmaker has 3 more new models in the pipeline for this year. Here’re the specifications and other details of the upcoming new Maruti Suzuki car, which are scheduled to launch in 2020.

1. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Petrol

The 2020 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will start arriving at dealerships the end of June. Previewed at this year’s Auto Expo, the crossover will come in three variants – Delta, Zeta and Alpha – powered by a BS6-compliant 1.5L K15B petrol engine. The same powertrain does duty in the Ertiga, Ciaz and new Vitara Brezza. The motor, boosted with mild hybrid technology, delivers power worth 105PS and 138Nm of torque. The updated model can be had either with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque convertor automatic transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback recently completed its 15 successful years in the country. In coming months, the carmaker will give a mid-life update to the model lineup. Its official launch details, however, are yet to be confirmed by the carmaker. The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Swift will feature a newly-designed grille with a chrome bar in the centre, revised front bumper and alloy wheels with dual-tone finish. Similar to the Japan-spec model, the Indian version might get two new dual-tone paint schemes – Flame Orange Pearl Metallic with Black Roof and Rush Yellow Metallic with Silver Roof. The biggest change will come in the form of 91PS, 1.2L Dualjet petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG model made its public debut at this year’s Auto Expo. The CNG variant is likely to hit showrooms in coming months. The model will be powered by a BS6-compliant 1.0L K10B petrol engine with a CNG kit. It pushes out a peak power of 59.14PS at 5,500rpm in CNG mode and 67.98PS in petrol model. Transmission duties will be done by a 5-speed manual gearbox. The S-Presso CNG is likely to be offered across four trims. No other changes will be made its design and features.

4. Rumoured Maruti Suzuki XL5

Reports suggest that Maruti Suzuki is planning launch a premium version of the WagonR hatchback. Called the Maruti Suzuki XL5, the model will feature projector headlamps with split design, new front bumper, revised fog lamp assembly, LED DRLs, larger 15-inch alloy wheels and LED taillamps. As of now, interior details are scanty. Though, it’s likely to offer some additional features such as automatic climate control, new seat upholstery and push start stop button.

Powering the vehicle might the same BS6 1.2L K-Series petrol engine that does duty in the standard WagonR. The motor could be offered with a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox unit. Its power and torque outputs stand at 77bhp and 113Nm. Unlike the standard WagonR, the more premium Maruti XL5 will be retailed via Nexa dealerships.
