Maruti Suzuki is ready to give a generation change to its three highly popular models, namely, Alto, Celerio and Vitara Brezza. According to a fresh media report, the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be the first one to hit roads. The hatchback’s all-new model will see a release in the month of February. Its official launch date, however, is yet to be revealed by the carmaker. The 2021 Maruti Celerio will witness noticeable changes inside and out along with a more powerful engine. In fact, the next-generation model will be bigger, higher and more spacious than the existing one.
One of the biggest changes will be made to its underpinning. The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio will ditch its existing platform for the new Heartect architecture that’s already used in the brand’s several new breed cars. Inside, the hatchback will receive a 7.0-inch Smartplay Studio infotainment system that’s likely to support both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. While the instrument cluster will be carried forward from the current car, the dashboard, steering wheel and centre console will be revised.
The new 2021 Maruti Celerio might also come with features such as automatic climate control, steering mounted controls and more. The hatchback will offer dual front airbags protection along with the standard seatbelt reminder, anti-lock braking system with electronic brake-force distribution, rear parking sensors and reverse camera.
Comprehensive changes will also be made to its exterior. The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio will feature a newly-designed, smaller front grille and air dam, halogen headlamps, new door handles, revised rear bumper and tweaked taillamps. Read – Global NCAP Crash Test Results of Maruti Suzuki Cars
As mentioned above, the new 2021 Maruti Celerio will come with a more power 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine making 83bhp. The hatchback will also be available with a 68bhp, 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol motor. The model lineup is likely to be offered with the 5-speed manual (standard) and AMT (optional) gearbox options.
