Maruti Suzuki has some really big plans for the Indian market. The Indo-Japanese carmaker will expand its SUV portfolio in coming years along with updating its existing model lineup. The company will give a generation change to its three highly popular models, namely, Vitara Brezza compact SUV, Alto and Celerio hatchbacks.
Reports suggest that the all-new Maruti Celerio will arrive early next year, followed by the Alto. The new-generation Maruti Vitara Brezza will come sometime in 2022.
Talking about the 2021 Maruti Celerio, the hatchback will witness noticeable design and dimensional changes. Compared to the current generation, the new one will be bigger and sit higher. In fact, it’s likely to offer more cabin space with slightly longer wheelbase. Similar to Maruti Suzuki’s new breed cars, the all-new Celerio will underpin the Heartect platform that’s likely to improve its handling, NHV levels and safety quotient.
The new-generation Maruti Alto is reported to make its global debut in December 2020. Its launch might happen sometime next year. The hatchback’s new model is likely to be more evolved in terms of design and features. It might receive a completely new front fascia along with newly-designed wheels, bolder side creases and new taillamps and bumper. A touchscreen infotainment system might be exclusively offered on the higher trims. The 2021 Maruti Suzuki Alto will be based on the brand’s new Heartect platform.
As of now, details of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza are not available. Though, we expect it to be based on Toyota’s DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) that will also underpin the brand’s upcoming new mid-sized SUV. The compact SUV is likely to come with improved design and more feature laden interior. If reports are to be believed, the carmaker might use the Suzuki’s new mild hybrid system for the new-generation Vitara Brezza. This will make the new model more powerful and fuel efficient than the existing one.
