Renault Kiger Will Be Cheaper Than Magnite; Cost Below Rs 5.49 Lakh

Renault’s upcoming Kiger subcompact SUV recently had its world debut in India. Its official prices are slated to announce in March 2021. Though, the carmaker has already confirmed that the new Renault Kiger compact SUV will undercut its arch rival and cousin – Nissan Magnite.

The Magnite recently witnessed a minor price hike (for the base variant only) and costs between Rs 5.49 lakh – Rs 9.59 lakh (all, ex-showroom). That means, the Kiger will be priced below Rs 5.49 lakh and it will be the most affordable SUV in its category. One must note that the Magnite was introduced at an introductory price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

For power, the upcoming new Kiger SUV will use a 72bhp, 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol and a 100bhp, 1.0L turbocharged petrol engines. The same powertrains do duty in the newly-launched Nissan Magnite.  The upcoming new Renault compact SUV offers three driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sports. The model shares its platform with the Triber that’s claimed to provide “the right balance between performance and efficiency”.

Renault Kiger Unveil

Despite the compact dimensions, the Renault Kiger offers decently spacious cabin. The carmaker says that the SUV has 710mm couple distance between front seats and 222mm legroom and 1431mm elbow room for second row passengers. The model comes with a boot capacity of 405-litres that extends to 879-litres with second row folded.

Renault confirms that the new Kiger compact SUV comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and voice commands. For entertainment purpose, there is a 4-speaker, 4-tweeter Arkamys audio system. Some of its key features include automatic climate control, PM2 5 clean air filter (first-in-segment), keyless entry, ambient lighting, push-button start, reverse parking camera and more.
