Global NCAP – New Car Assessment Program is the agency which shows the safety features of the cars including how they performed in various crash test (Frontal, Side). Global NCAP is testing a wide range of cars and SUVs under #SaferCarsForIndia campaign. While Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra fared really well, Maruti Suzuki cars are heavily critisized for their low scores in the crash test. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso – O Star
Maruti Suzuki’s entry-level tall-boy car has received a poor 0 star in the Global NCAP’s crash tests. It received a 2 star rating for child occupant protection. The company tested the mod-spec VXi variant, which gets driver-side airbag, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminder, reverse parking sensor and others as standard safety features.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga – 3 Star
The second-generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga managed to score a 3 stars safety rating. The MPV scored 3 star safety rating in both adult and child occupant protection. Global NCAP said that the bodyshell integrity and footwell area of the MPV were rated as unstable.

Maruti Suzuki WagonR – 2 Stars
The new generation Wagon R has received 2 star rating in the Global NCAP crash test. Global NCAP has tested the entry-level, 1.0L LXi variant of the new Wagon R for the crash test. The tall-boy hatchback only scored 6.93 points out of 17 for adult occupant protection. For child occupant protection, the hatch scored just 16.33 points out of 49.

Maruti Suzuki Swift – 2 Stars
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback achieved two stars for adult occupant protection and two stars for child occupant protection. It only scored 7.08 points out of 17 for adult occupant protection, and 16.23 points out of 49 in child occupant protection.

Maruti Vitara Brezza – 4 Stars
The ‘Made-in-India’ Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has scored an impressive 4 stars safety rating in the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) crash test. The SUV achieved two stars in child occupant protection and four stars for adult occupant protection. The tested Maruti Vitara Brezza was equipped with the standard dual airbags, ISOFIX anchorages and Antilock Braking System (ABS).
