2020 Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI, Superb facelift Launched
Czech automaker, Skoda has launched 3 new cars – the Karoq SUV, new Rapid 1.0 TSI and Superb facelift in the Indian market. The Karoq is available in a single variant, which is priced at Rs lakh. The company had showcased the 2020 Rapid 1.0 TSI and the Superb facelift at the 2020 Auto Expo. While the new Rapid is priced at Rs 7.49 lakh for base model and Rs 11.79 lakh for the top-end model, the 2020 Skoda Superb facelift cost Rs 29.99 lakh for base model and Rs 32.99 lakh for top-end model.
2020 Skoda Superb Facelift
Interested buyers can book the new Superb facelift online or at dealerships by paying an initial sum of Rs 50,000. It is available in 2 variants – the Laurin & Klement (L&K) and the Sportline.
Colour Options
The Superb L&K is available in 5 exterior colour options – Lava Blue, Business Grey, Moon White, Magic Black and Magnetic Brown. On the other hand, the Superb Sportline is available in 3 colour options – Race Blue, Moon White and Steel Grey.
Exterior & Interior Changes
In terms of styling changes, the 2020 Skoda Superb facelift received new front grille, re-styled bumper, new LED headlamps and a chrome trim between the LED tail-lamps. Inside the cabin, the sedan received new Virtual Cockpit digital instrument console, an updated infotainment system and wireless smartphone charging. The sportier version, the Superb Sportline gets aggressive design highlights in the form of a blacked-out grille, ORVMs, a contrasting roof and newly styled alloys. The cabin also received all-black scheme with contrasting red trim.
Specifications
Powering the 2020 Skoda Superb facelift is a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine, which come as a replacement for the BS4 compliant 1.8-litre petrol engine. Paired to a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox, this engine is capable of producing 190bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in 7.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 239kmph.
2020 Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI
The new Rapid is available in 5 variants – Active, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. Customers can book the sedan by paying an initial amount of Rs 25,000. The company had showcased the Monte Carlo and the regular Rapid 1.0 TSI at the 2020 Auto Expo. The sedan retains most of the styling from the BS4 model. It now gets new trunk spoiler, LED DRLs (daytime running lights) and Clubber alloy wheels.
Multiple Colour Options
The new Rapid Active variant is available in 2 colours – Candy White and Carbon Steel, while the Ambition and Style variants are available in 4 paint jobs – Brilliant Silver, Toffee Brown, Candy White and Carbon Steel. The Onyx variant is offered with 2 colour options – White and Lapiz Blue, while the top-end Monte Carlo is also available in 2 colour options – Candy White and Flash Red.
Specifications
Powering the 2020 Skoda Rapid is a BSVI compliant 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the BSVI Volkswagen Vento and the Polo. This engine is capable of producing 110bhp of power and 175Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. It is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 18.97kmpl.
