2020 Skoda Kodiaq and Superb Facelift Launch Details Confirmed
Skoda India will roll out facelifted version of the Superb executive sedan and Kodiaq 7-seater SUV next year. Zac Hollis, director, Sales, Service & Marketing, Skoda Auto India, has confirmed that the 2020 Skoda Superb facelift will go on sale in May, 2020. The same petrol engine will also be introduced on the Skoda Kodiaq SUV lineup. Currently, the 7-seater SUV comes with a 2.0L diesel engine that’s good enough for 148bhp with 340Nm of torque. Transmission on offer is a 7-speed DSG automatic unit. With a more powerful petrol engine, the 2020 Skoda Kodiaq will hit showrooms in late 2020.
In global market, the 2.0L TSI petrol engine has been made available in multiple states of tune. The UK-spec Skoda Kodiaq with the same gasoline motor delivers 190bhp with 320Nm of torque. In India, it has been made available with Octavia RS230 that returns a claimed power of 230bhp. The carmaker will soon roll out the Octavia RS245 with 245bhp, 2.0L petrol engine. The 2020 Skoda Superb facelift’s 2.0L TSI engine is likely to be offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive (FWD) system. The same engine-gearbox combination will be offered on the 2020 Skoda Kodiaq lineup, but with the all-wheel drive (AWD) system.
