2020 Hyundai Tucson facelift will be the first launch from the South Korean carmaker post lockdown. Official bookings have already been commenced at a token sum of Rs 25,000. Previewed at this year’s Auto Expo, the premium SUV lineup will come in two trims – GL Option and GLS – and petrol and diesel engine options. Both powertrains meet the BS6 emission norms.

The petrol version derives its power from the naturally-aspirated 2.0L, 4-cylinder engine making power worth 150bhp and a peak torque of 192Nm. The diesel model, on the other hand, uses a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbo motor delivering a maximum power of 182bhp against 400Nm of torque.

Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual (petrol only), 6-speed automatic (standard) and a new 8-speed automatic (diesel only). While the entry-level GL Option trim comes with 2WD (two-wheel-drive) system, the AWD (all-wheel-drive) is reserved for the top-end GLS variant. Minor updates have been made to its exterior. The 2020 Hyundai Tucson carries a larger cascading grille, new fog lamp assembly, revised bumper and full LED headlamps at the front end. Other changes include newly-designed alloy wheels, updated rear bumper, new taillight cluster and new reflectors on the tailgate.

You will notice significant updates inside the cabin. There is an 8.0-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system integrated on the dashboard. The updated model also gets a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charger, a 360-degree camera, USB charging points for second row , updated instrument console,  an 8-way electrically adjustable passenger seat, leather upholstery, dual zone auto climate control with rear AC vents and more. On the safety front, the SUV offers lane keeping assist, collision avoidance assist, adaptive cruise control, stability control, front and rear parking sensors, hill start assist, multiple airbags and more.
