2018 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe is the fifth Softail motorcycle from Harley in India.

American premium bikemaker, Harley Davidson has launched the new Harley Softail Deluxe in the Indian two-wheeler market. The new motorcycle is priced at Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). The 2018 Harley Softail Deluxe is the fifth motorcycle in the Softail range from Harley in India. The current Softail range comprises of Street Bob, Fat Bob, Fat boy and Heritage Classic. This is basically a retro-inspired Classic with retro design and modern underpinning.

The new Harley Softail Deluxe has been positioned between the Fat Bob and the Fat Boy. With this motorcycle, the American two-wheeler maker is aiming at customers looking at a retro-styled cruiser motorcycle with powerful performance. Read: 2018 Harley Davidson Low Rider – Price & Pictures

Like its siblings, the 2018 Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe is powered by the company’s new generation Milwaukee 108 engine, which displaces 1745cc. This engine offers a maximum torque of 148Nm at just 3000rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel of the Softail Deluxe via a six-speed gearbox.

The new Softail Deluxe is based on a lighter and stiffer platform. In terms of design, this motorcycle looks like an old school cruiser. It features old school big round-shaped headlamp with auxiliary lights, which seems inspired from the previous generation Heritage Softail Classic. For suspension duties, the 2018 Harley Davidson Softail Deluxe gets Showa dual bending valve forks upfront and single under-seat coil-over shock absorber at the rear. The single shock unit replaces the dual shocks used in the older Softail. The bike comes equipped with keyless ignition and ABS as standard.
