We informed you earlier that Ford will introduce the 2018 Ford Endeavour (Everest in global markets) in the second half of this year. Ahead of the launch, new details of the premium SUV have been leaked on the internet. Besides cosmetic design upgrades, the new Ford Everest will come equipped with new engines and a new 10-speed automatic gearbox.
The outgoing model is available with two diesel engines – a 2.2-litre TDCi 4-cylinder and 3.2-litre TDCi 5-cylinder. While the former is good for 158bhp and 385Nm, the 5-cylinder unit produces 197bhp of power and 470Nm of torque. The 2018 Endeavour will be equipped with a new 2.0-litre TDCi Bi-Turbo diesel engine that also powers the Ranger Raptor. This engine is capable of producing 210bhp of maximum power and 500Nm of torque. Besides, the SUV will continue with 3.2-litre diesel engine. The facelifted Ford Endeavour or Everest will also get a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. Current model is equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission. The new gearbox will be offered with the top-spec 2.0-litre TDCi Bi-Turbo diesel engine. This variant will come with an auto-start-stop system for enhanced efficiency. Talking about features, the 2018 Ford Endeavour will gain passive keyless entry and push-button start. The upcoming model will continue with the new SYNC 3 infotainment system as standard. The overall profile remains largely unchanged, though it gets newly front fascia inspired from Ford’s new generation models.
