Kawasaki Z250

Kawasaki India is readying the updated Z250 sportsbike for 2015. The Japanese two-wheeler maker will add ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and slipper clutch to the Z250 as standard. Until now, the company is offering the Z250 with ABS and Slipper clutch only in the Japanese two-wheeler market. The updated model of the streetbike will be introduced in other Southeast Asian markets from 2015 onwards.

The addition of ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and Slipper Clutch will further enhances the overall braking system by avoiding wheel-locking and skidding on sudden braking. The company is offering the slipper clutch as standard on the Ninja 300. These additions will increase the pricing of the Z250, which is currently tagged at Rs. 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).  The sportsbike is currently 60,000 cheaper than the Ninja 300, but with ABS and Slipper clutch the price gap will further narrow.

The Kawasaki Z250 is powered by a 249cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that churns out a maximum power output of 32PS at 11,000rpm and a peak torque of 21Nm at 10,000rpm. Power is transmitted to rear wheels via a six-speed gearbox. The suspension system comprises of the 37mm telescopic forks at front and a monoshock at the rear.
