New MG 7-Seater MPV Could be the Rebadged Maxus G10 – Spotted

Now too is considering the launch of a 6/7-seater MPV to take on against the Innova. The vehicle has recently been spotted ahead of its debut at the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo. The spotted model is sold in China as the Maxus G10 in different seat configurations, the one spotted in India is a 7-seater version. If it comes to India, it will of course carry the MG badge.
MG is planning to showcase a total of 14 new products belonging to different SAIC brands (Rowee, Maxus, etc). If reports are to be believed all the products will come with MG badge. Read – MG Motors Plans Sub-10 Lakh Cars For India
Besides the Maxus G10, the company will also showcased Maxus D10 SUV at the biennial event. The D10, if launched here, will take on the premium full-fledged SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4.
While it’s too early to comment on the engine options the Maxus G10 will get upon its arrival here. The one sold in China has multiple powertrain options – a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol paired to a six-speed manual/ six-speed AT, a 2.4-litre diesel with a 6-speed MT and a 1.9-litre turbo diesel with a 6-speed AT. MG has access to all these engine options, so bringing any of these here shouldn’t be a problem for them.
MG will also be showcasing the Hector 6 and 7 seater versions at the event. Then there is a Creta/Seltos rival that MG will be putting up on display at the event.
