2018 Mercedes-AMG S 63 Coupe 4Matic+is available at Rs 2.55 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Mercedes-Benz India has finally launched the AMG S 63 Coupe 4Matic + at an event in Delhi. After the E 63 S 4Matic+, GLE 43 Orange Art and SLC 43 Red Art, t, the Mercedes AMG S 63 Coupe 4Matic+ is the company’s fourth performance model to roll out this year. Priced at 2.55 Rs crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), the performance car takes head-to-head against the Bentley Continental GT and the Porsche Panamera Turbo.

For power, the Mercedes AMG S 63 Coupe 4Matic+ makes use of a 4.0-litre V8 motor that pushes out power worth 612bhp against a whopping torque of 900Nm. This makes it around 50Nm torqueier than the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S. The motor is mated to a 9-speed AMG Speedshift automatic gearbox, supported by AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. With the Race Start function, it can attain 100kmph sprints from standstill in 3.4 seconds. The performance car offers a top speed of 250kmph. One can increase its electronic speed limit up to 300kmph with the AMG Driver’s package.

Sporting light forged alloy wheels, a composite braking system and a lithium ion battery, the 2018 Mercedes AMG S 63 Coupe 4Matic+ is around 65kg lighter compared to the old model. Some of its key design and styling features include a Panamericana grille, apron upfront with two larger air inlets, aerodynamically designed front and side skirts, 66 OLEDs, 19-inch alloy wheels, updated quad exhausts and diffuser insert at the bottom and newly designed twin tail pipes. Interior of the Mercedes AMG S 63 Coupe 4Matic+ is a sheer luxury with sporty feel and appearance. It gets Nappa leather seat upholstery along with AMG badges on the front and rear seat backrests. The three spoke steering wheel also features an AMG moniker. There is a 12.3-inch TFT widescreen colour display showing lateral and longitudinal acceleration, engine and transmission oil temperature, engine output, boost pressure, torque, tyre temperatures and pressures. Features such as speed sensitive steering, active ride control, a track pack and driving modes are standard across the carline.
