The 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo and Turbo Executive are now on sale in India at Rs 1.93 crore and Rs 2.06 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. The Porsche Panamera Turbo Executive is essentially the stretched version of the sedan based on 150mm longer wheelbase. This makes it more spacious especially for the rear occupants. Designed on the brand’s new MSB (Modularer Standard Baukasten) platform, the 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo features LED headlamps and pronounced creases on the sloping bonnet at the front fascia. Interior, too, has gone through some major changes in terms of both design and features. It’s new Porsche Advanced Cockpit with configurable LED displays and smartphone-like user interfaces add more to its convenience levels. There is a 12.3-inch touchscreen Porsche Communication Management supporting several new digital functions and online services.
The car also offers a fully integrated infotainment system with removable displays, fitted to the front seats’ headrest, for the rear seats occupants. Coming to the engine, the 2017 Porsche Panamera Turbo sources its power from a 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine paired to a new 8-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) gearbox. This motor can do 0-100kmph in 3.8 seconds. The power figure stands at 543bhp, while making 770Nm of torque. Its mileage figure stands at 10.6kmpl, which slightly less than the previous model.
Similar to the 918 Boxster, the new Panamera Turbo offers four driving modes – Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual. Interestingly, the car’s MSB platform has been especially designed for rear wheel drive (RWD) and front-engine layout.
