Mercedes-AMG has revealed the updated C43 4Matic sedan and estate variants ahead of their debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The 2019 Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic facelift receives a more powerful version of the company’s 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine. With bigger turbochargers, this motor now delivers an additional 23bhp power output – i.e. 385bhp. Though, the torque figure remains unchanged – 519Nm.
The 2019 Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic facelift comes with AMG Speedshift TCT 9G automatic transmission, supported by AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The driver can directly switch to manual mode by pressing the ‘M’ button. The vehicle offers the Dynamic select drive programs – Comfort, Individual, Sport and Sport+. Visually, the facelifted C 43 4Matic variants look slightly more refreshing than their predecessors. Upfront, the car gets a new twin-blade grille, revised bumper with new air duct design. Other styling updates include new AMG lightweight five twin spokes alloys with tremolite grey shade and a high-sheen finish, twin round chromed tailpipes, a larger diffuser, re-designed rear bumper and body-coloured spoiler lip on the boot lid. The front and rear tyres’ size stand at with 225/45 R 18 tyres and 245/40 R 18 respectively. The tantalite grey coloured, high-gloss black/matt black alloy wheels with 225/40 R 19 tyres front, and 255/35 R 19 rear tyres are optional offering on the carline. Mercedes is also offering an optional AMG styling kit that includes more premium front splitter, broader side skirt inserts and high-gloss black finish flics in the rear bumper.
Interior of the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic facelift comes loaded with advanced comfort goodies. The list of features include a fully digital instrument cluster with 12.3-inch diagonal display with three AMG-specific display styles – ‘Classic’, ‘Sport’ and ‘Supersport’, aluminum sports pedals with black studs, black roof liner and the red seat belts and Artico man-made leather finish with red topstitching in the seats, door centre panels and dashboard. In India, the Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic competes with the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo and the Audi S5. The existing model of the car is available at Rs 74.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
