The 2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 S 4Matic is powered by a 612bhp, bi-turbo V8 paired to 9-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Mercedes-Benz India has finally launched the most powerful E-Class ever – the Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4Matic+ – at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC). Priced at Rs 1.5 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), the performance sedan is around Rs more expensive than the regular E-Class. The latter one comes in the price range of Rs 57.47 lakh – Rs 70.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new E 63 S is slightly more expensive than the BMW M5, which is priced at Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom).

At the heart of the Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4Matic+ is a 4.0-litre V8 turbocharged powertrain, which is benefited with twin-scroll technology. This system not only enhances overall performance of the motor, but reduces turbo lag as well. The sedan comes with a 9-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch gearbox, supported by 4Matic all-wheel drivetrain system. It can mark 0-100kmph sprints in just 3.3 seconds. The AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system delivers power to all four wheels. The new Drift Mode is claimed to make the saloon a “purely rear-wheel drive” vehicle. It also comes with the ‘Race’ mode. The Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4Matic+ is also equipped with optional performance-oriented AMG’s sports suspension setup, carbon ceramic disc brakes, dynamic engine mounts and an electronically-controlled differential lock.

Carrying performance muscles, the Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4Matic+ looks sportier than the regular E-Class sedan. This performance sedan gets a new single slat grille, new front bumper with slightly larger air intakes and sporty exhaust at the rear. The more pronounced wheel arches with matte-black AMG 20-inch alloy wheels add more to its sporty appearance.
