New Honda Amaze Bookings Open At 21,000; Launch In May 2018

Scheduled to be launched in May 2018, the new Honda Amaze will receive a more powerful diesel engine and better quality interior.

Japanese automaker, Honda had showcased the new generation Honda Amaze at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The second-generation Amaze is built on a brand new platform, which is also reportedly to be used in all-new sub-4 meter compact SUV. The sedan will also receive an updated 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that will also offer more power. Honda Car dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the new Amaze at a token amount of Rs 21,000, which is refundable on cancellation. The sedan is scheduled to be launched in May 2018. Speaking on new Amaze, Mr. Rajesh Goel, Sr Vice President & Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd. said, “The Honda Amaze has been one of our very successful models in India, with over 2.57 lakh satisfied customers. The new generation Honda Amaze has been designed in Thailand with inputs from Honda Cars India’s engineering team. With this model, Honda aims to improve its market share. The sedan comes with an all-new design and feature-loaded, premium cabin. In terms of styling, the SUV gets an all-new grille which is inspired from the Accord and a newly designed headlamp cluster and a new bumper. Inside the cabin, the new Amaze gets newly developed dashboard with better material quality and fit and finish. It is equipped with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is expected to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with navigation. New Honda Amaze First Look Review

In terms of mechanics, the sedan will continue to feature the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. While the petrol engine is good for 89bhp of power and 110Nm of torque, the oil burner is good for 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. However, Honda is likely to tune these engines for better NVH levels and more power. The diesel version will also get a CVT automatic transmission option.
