Honda had unveiled the all-new 2018 Amaze compact sedan at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The company has confirmed that the new model will go on sale in the country in the second quarter of 2018. For the first time, the Honda Amaze sedan will come with diesel automatic option. It will be India’s first affordable sedan to feature a CVT automatic gearbox on its diesel avatar. Adding to it, the Amaze sub-4 meter sedan will become the second compact sedan to offer manual and automatic options on both petrol and diesel engines.

The Honda Amaze CVT will directly rival the Maruti Dzire automatic, which is equipped with AMT gearbox in both petrol and diesel engines. In terms of mechanics, the new Amaze will be available with the existing 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. However, both the engines will be tuned to offer better NVH levels. The 2018 Honda Amaze is based on an all-new platform, which is claimed to be lighter, stiffer and safer. This platform will also underpin the company’s future compact SUV to rival Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon. The new Amaze comes with all-new design, featuring new front fascia that seems inspired from the Accord sedan. It comes with a coupe-like plunging roofline at the rear, which takes design cues from the new Honda Civic.
The sedan has a slightly longer wheelbase, which results into spacious cabin. The cabin is all-new and more premium than the previous model. It will also be equipped with a 7-inch DIGIPAD touchscreen infotainment system, which is sourced from the new City sedan. This system is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
