Yamaha Motor India has introduced two new colours on the Cygnus Ray-ZR scooter in the country. The new shades include Armanda Blue and Rooster Red. One must note that the new paint schemes are available only on the disc brake variant. No changes have been made to pricing. The 2018 Yamaha Cygnus Ray-ZR is available three variants Drum brake, Disc Brake and Draknight model – priced at Rs 53,451, Rs 55,898 and Rs 56,898 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
The scooter is already offered in three colour options – Maverick Blue, Matt Green and Darknight Black. Apart this, the 113cc scooter doesn’t receive any cosmetic or feature upgrades. The engine mechanism, too, remains unchanged. Read – Yamaha R15 V3 Accessory & Racing Kit Revealed
Commenting on the addition of the new colours, Roy Kurian, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India said, “As the two-wheeler industry recorded a growth of almost 8% in the year 2017, the scooters segment maintained its growth momentum at 12%. The brand has been able to make steady inroads and will rev hearts with many more exciting products, particularly targeted at trend-conscious young customers. By introducing new colours in Cygnus Ray ZR, the company will look forward to reinstate fresh excitement in this segment.”
Power on the 2018 Yamaha Cygnus Ray ZR continues to come from the same 113cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine boosted with Yamaha’s ‘Blue Core’ technology. The suspension setup of the scooter includes telescopic forks up front and unit swing at the rear. It comes fitted with hydraulic single disc bake/mechanical leading trailing drum brake and mechanical leading trailing drum brake at the front and rear axle respectively. The scooter rides on 90/100-10 53J tubeless tyres.
