The Swedish carmaker has rolled out a new and more luxurious variant of its Volvo XC90 SUV in the Indian market. Called the Volvo XC90 Excellence Lounge Console, the new model has been made available at Rs 1.42 crore (ex-showroom). Instead of the standard 7-seats configuration, the new variant comes with a 3-seat configuration ensuring more space for the rear seat occupants.

The seats are electrically adjustable and have reclining function. The front passenger seat features a powered unit for a rising leg-rest, lockable storage compartments and a fold-away touchscreen. The rear passenger seat has ventilated cooling and heating functions along with a massage function. It also has a pop-up touchscreen placed between the two seats.

Features such as central arm rest with tray tables, in-car refrigerator and exclusive pair of crystal glasses by Orrefors and special champagne flute holders further enhance its luxury and comfort levels. The Volvo XC90 Excellence Lounge Console has black and beige finish inside the cabin. There is a glass partition between the cabin and the cargo space.

Its multi function module can be converted into a 17-inch touchscreen display, a foot rest and a table. The SUV’s new variant also gets the best of Nappa leather along with the top-notch quality open-pore wood. For entertainment purpose, there is a 20-speaker, 1400-watt Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

Under the hood, the Volvo XC90 Excellence Lounge Console features the same T8 Twin engine with plug-in hybrid electrified powertrain that does duty in the regular model.

The front wheels get power from a 2.0-litre turbocharged and supercharged petrol motor generating 320bhp and the rear wheels source power from an 87bhp, electric motor. Its combined power and torque outputs stand at 407bhp and 640Nm respectively. The SUV comes with the AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. .
