2020 Volkswagen Golf

German premium carmaker, Volkswagen is readying the next generation Golf, which is scheduled to be unveiled in the next couple of months. The company has also released a teaser image showing the new Golf doing testing. In a statement, Volkswagen said the VW Golf is all set to enter into a new age – “the era of electrified drives, a digitalized and connected interior world, assisted driving and online-based functions and services.”

Going by the statement, it is clear that the Golf will come with electric drivetrains along with connected in-car technologies. The teaser image was fully camouflaged, but it is visible that the new VW Golf is a 5-door hatch. The new model has entered the final testing phase and Volkswagen is about to complete development of the brand’s most important car.

The eighth generation of the Golf will receive evolutionary styling, which is quite evident from the new teaser. Volkswagen’s design head, Klaus Bischoof, claims that the new model is going to be a “genuine eye-catcher”. The new generation VW Golf and the electric ID.3 will be the company’s first models to carry the revised corporate logo. The hatchback features full-LED headlamp unit, though clear details will emerge once it officially makes public debut.

The company hasn’t released the rear styling of the new-generation VW Golf. Going by the spy images, it is visible that the hatchback gets LED tail-lamps, sculpted boot-lid and dual-tone bumper. The cabin is also expected to receive significant changes. It is likely to receive a bigger touchscreen infotainment with little physical buttons.
