It will be closely related to the upcoming Skoda Vision IN concept based SUV. Here’re each and every detail of the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun SUV in 8 quick points.

– Skoda’s mid-size SUV will be the first one to arrive in the market, followed by the Volkswagen Taigun. Both models will be based on VW’s India-specific MQB A0 IN platform and come under Volkswagen Group’s India 2.0 project.

– Design of the Volkswagen Taigun is quite similar to the VW T-Cross SUV that’s sold in global market. Though, the former is longer with more rear seat space. Compared to the Euro-spec T-Cross, the Taigun sits on 100mm longer wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 205mm.

– In fact, the German carmaker has tweaked styling of the India-spec model. The upcoming new compact Volkswagen SUV carries a more angular hood with chrome treatment on the grille and bumpers.

– Unlike the concept that has flashy rim, the production model is likely to feature smaller wheels. At the rear, the LED taillamps are connected via an LED light strip.

Volkswagen Taigun Specs

– Inside, the Volkswagen SUV has a multi-layer dashboard with integrated 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an all-digital instrument cluster. The interior layout is neat and clean with quality fit and finish.

– The Taigun is likely to be loaded with advanced safety fitments. Just so you know, the Volkswagen T-Cross achieved a 5-star safety rating in the Latin NCAP crash test.

– In India, the VW Taigun will be made available with a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine boosted with cylinder-deactivation technology. The gasoline motor will deliver power around 130bhp and is likely to be high on fuel efficiency.

– There will be no diesel engine option. Though, the carmaker is considering introduce a CNG option for buyers looking to reduce running costs.
