Volkswagen Motorsport India has announced its return to the race circuits with the 2014 season of Polo R Cup India. The selected drivers will compete against each other for this year’s JK Tyre VW Polo R Cup 2014 title. The pre-season test will be conducted at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbator on 24th and 25th May 2014 followed by the fitness camp in Bangalore on 26th and 27th May. The competitors will then return to Coimbatore for the first competitive round from 30th May to 1st June 2014.
The drivers for the competition have already been selected and they are now preparing to enter the full competitive season. However, before they start their battles for the title, they will be put through a pre-season test as well as a fitness camp to prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead in the year.
Volkswagen Motorsport India will provide two testing sessions for the drivers wherein they can learn the circuits and gauge their performance for improvements. First test will be prior to the competitive season from 24th to 25th May at the Kari Motor Speedway while the second test will be mid-season at Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida. The first competitive round of the 2014 season will be held at Kari Motor Speedway near Coimbatore from 30th May to 1st June 2014.

To take this forward, we will focus further on drivers’ development this year by having two fitness camps and more on-track practice time. These steps have been taken to prepare the drivers physically and mentally and to give them a pressure-free track time which they can utilise to enhance their on-track performance.”
