Upcoming Volkswagen’s new and facelift cars in India

Volkswagen Taigun compact SUV

In an ambitious plan of becoming the world’s largest car manufacturer, Volkswagen is aiming to capture more market share in the growing nations. The company has recently announced a new budget brand which will launch affordable cars in the developing countries. Volkswagen is also aiming to improve its market share in the Indian car market. The German car manufacturer is planning to launch several new cars and facelift version of existing cars in the country.

Volkswagen is planning to invest a hefty sum of 100million euros (Over Rs. 800 crore) in India to expand its business, including a couple of new products. We reported earlier that Volkswagen will launch a compact SUV and a compact sedan in the country. If media reports to believe, the company is also aiming to introduce a small hatchback which will sit below the company’s flagship Polo hatch. At the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, VW unveiled the Taigun compact SUV which is likely to be introduced by the 2015-16. We strongly believe that the compact sedan and a compact hatchback will come under Volkswagen’s all-new low-cost car brand.

Volkswagen India will also launch the facelifted Polo hatchback and the Vento sedan. A new generation Passat and Jetta facelift will also make its way to the market by early next year. The updated Polo hatchback is likely to come by July this year, while the Vento will make its way to the market by festive season. Moreover, the huge investment will help the company to achieve higher localisation which ultimately turns into affordability.
