Upcoming Renault LBA Compact Sedan Rendered As Mini Logan

Renault LBA Sedan Rendered

Codenamed Renault LBA, the upcoming compact sedan will be based on the CMF-A platform that underpins the Triber MPV.

French automaker, Renault will launch 2 all-new sub-4 meter cars in the Indian market in the next 1 year. This year, the company will launch an all-new compact SUV, codenamed HBC, to rival the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and others. In 2021, Renault will introduce an all-new compact sedan, codenamed LBA, to challenge the Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze and the Hyundai Aura.

These two sub-4 meter SUVs will be based on the modified version of the CMF-A+ platform, which also underpins the Triber MPV. The company’s popular entry-level hatchback – the Renault Kwid is also based on the same platform. However, Renault engineers have tweaked the platform with stronger elements to accommodate slightly bigger and different body-styles.

Renault LBA Compact Sedan Imagined

Digital artist, Klebar Silva has released a couple of renderings of the upcoming Renault Kwid sedan. The renderings are based on the brand’s globally popular Logan sedan. The new Kwid sedan has been imagined as a mini Logan. It features the brand’s signature grille with chrome embellishments and large logo at the centre, LED headlamps with daytime running lights, stylish fog lamp enclosure, dual-tone front bumper with Logan-like lowered grille.

The render also has sculpted bonnet with prominent lines. The side profile looks simple with strong belt-line, plain styling with less minimal curves and diamond cut alloys. The rear profile looks aggressive with strong creases and curves on tail-gate, dual-tone bumper and wrap-around LED tail-lamps.

The Renault LBA sedan is likely to share the interior layout and features with the Triber and the upcoming sub-4 meter SUV. It will come with a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, multi-functional steering wheel, reverse camera, automatic climate control, keyless entry and GO, power windows and many more.

The upcoming Renault compact sedan will undercut the prices of the segment leader Maruti Dzire. Thanks to the heavily localised and low-cost CMF-A platform, the new Renault sedan is expected to be priced around Rs 5 lakh – Rs 7 lakh. The new compact sedan will be offered with 2 engine options – 1.0L naturally-aspirated petrol and 1.0L turbocharged petrol. While the former is good for 71bhp and 96Nm of torque, the turbocharged unit produces 99bhp and 160Nm of torque. Transmission choices are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
