Tata Tiago EV
Prices of the new Tata Tiago EV start from Rs 8.49 lakh for the XE base variant and go up to Rs 11.79 lakh for the top-end XZ+ Tech Lux variant. While its bookings were commenced in October last year, deliveries will begin in January 2023. The electric hatchback model lineup comes in four trims – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux. It comes with the 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery pack options, delivering a claimed MIDC range of 250km and 315km respectively. It has Tata’s Ziptron high-voltage architecture that has an electric motor pushing out 61bhp with 110Nm (19.2kWh battery) and 74bhp with 114Nm (24kWh battery). More details here…
Citroen eC3
Interested buyers can pre-book the upcoming new Citroen eC3 electric hatchback by paying a sum of Rs 25,000. Its prices will be revealed in February 2023. We expect it to cost between Rs 10 lakh – Rs 12 lakh. The eC3 will be made available in Live and Feel variants. Powertrain setup includes a 29.2kWh battery pack and an electric motor making 57bhp and 143Nm. Citroen claims that its new mass-market electric car offers a range of 320km on a full charge. It has two driving modes – Eco and Standard and it can accelerate 0 to 100kmph in 6.8 seconds. The eC3 has an electronic speed limit of 107kmph. MG Air EV
MG Air will be a 3-door electric car that’s said to be premium than the Tata Tiago EV. The model is likely to come at a starting price of Rs 10 lakh. Measuring around 2.9m in length, the Air EV will be the smallest car in the country. Official specifications of the new MG electric car are yet to be revealed. Though, it’s reported to use an LFP-cell battery with capacity of around 20-25kWh, sourced from Tata Autocomp. The small EV will promise a range of around 200-300km. Maruti Electric Car
Maruti Suzuki eVX concept, which was recently showcased at this year’s Auto Expo, previews the company’s futuristic design language. Its finally production version will witness a market launch in early 2025. The new Maruti electric SUV is surely one of the much-anticipated upcoming affordable electric cars in the country. It will be designed on the born-EV platform and measure over 4.2m in length with a wheelbase of 2700mm. The carmaker has confirmed that the EV will have a 60kWh battery pack and deliver a range of 550km. The company will use the LFP blade cell batteries to achieve optimum packaging, high range and competitive pricing. It could be priced between Rs 13 lakh – Rs 15 lakh. More details here…
