Citroen eC3 Bookings Open at Rs 25,000 – Tata Tiago EV Fighter

Citroen eC3 electric hatchback’s bookings have been commenced at a token sum of Rs 25,000. One can pre-book the model at any authorized Citroen dealership or online via the company’s official website. Its deliveries will begin in February after its price announcement. Here, the new Citroen electric car will target the entry-level mass-market and go up against the Tata Tiago EV that costs between Rs 8.49 lakh – Rs 11.79 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Similar to its ICE version, the eC3 model lineup will come in two variants – Live and Feel.

Both variants will be packed with a 29.2kWh battery pack delivering power to an electric motor fitted at the front axle. The motor generates a peak power of 57bhp and 143Nm of torque. The electric hatchback is capable to do 0 to 60kmph in 6.8 seconds and offer a maximum speed of 107kmph. The electric hatchback will have two driving modes – Eco and Standard – along with the regenerative braking system. The carmaker claims that the Citroen eC3 delivers an ARAI-rated range of 320km on a single charge.

Citroen eC3 Revealed

The new Citroen electric car will be made available with two charging options – DC fast charger and a 3.3kW onboard AC charger. While the former can charge its battery pack from 10 to 80 percent in 57 minutes, the latter one takes 10.5 hours to fully juice up the battery. The company is providing a 7 years/1,40,000km warranty on the battery pack, a 5 year/1,00,000 warranty on the electric motor and a 3 year/1,25,000km warranty on the vehicle.

In terms of features, the higher variant of the new Citroen eC3 will offer a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, height adjustable driver’s seat, a four-speaker audio system, connected car tech, dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) and many more.
