TVS To Launch New Cruiser and Adventure Bikes In India

TVS Motor Company has patented 4 names – Retron, Raider, Fiero 125 and the Zeppelin R – indicating a wide range of new motorcycles under development. As the name indicates, the Zeppelin R will be the brand’s entry into the cruiser motorcycle segment dominated by Royal Enfield. Adding to it, the brand is also ready to enter into the 125cc segment with the Fiero nameplate.

The Retron could be the name for brand’s new electric scooter or retro-classic version of the Radeon entry-level motorcycle. What’s interesting is that the brand is also reportedly working on an all-new adventure tourer, which is likely to be called the TVS Raider.

TVS Retron

TVS Raider – It is expected to be an entry-level adventure motorcycle, similar to the XPulse 200. The motorcycle is likely to come with off-road equipments including adjustable suspension. The bike could have spoked wheels, dual-purpose tyres, and higher ground clearance. The motorcycle could receive the tweaked version of the Apache RTR 200 4V’s 200cc engine, which will have better torque at the bottom end.

TVS Fiero 125 – The popular Fiero nameplate is expected to make a comeback in a new avatar, and will be a 125cc motorcycle. TVS Motor Company is not offering a motorcycle in a fairly popular 125cc commuter motorcycle segment, which is currently dominated by Honda and Hero MotoCorp. It is expected to be positioned against the Honda SP 125 and the Bajaj Pulsar 125.

TVS Ronin Zeppelin

TVS Zeppelin R – It is expected to be positioned against the likes of the Jawa Classic 350, Honda CB350 and the Royal Enfield Meteor 350. The motorcycle is expected to offered with 250cc or 310cc powerful engine. The company had showcased the Zeppelin concept at the 2020 Auto Expo. The showcased concept was equipped with a 220cc, single-cylinder engine paired with 1,200 watt regenerative assist motor with a 48 volt Lithium-ion battery. It’s claimed to deliver 20% more torque when needed.
