With the growing demand for compact sedan cars, Tata Motors will launch the Zest sedan in the country. This model is undoubtedly the company’s most appealing and more modern looking car.  Based on the thoroughly modified X1 platform, the Zest compact sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. Moreover, it will be the country’s first ever diesel car to get the automated manual transmission gearbox. We all know that AMT gearbox costs less than the conventional automatic gearbox. So, the Zest AMT is expected to be the country’s most affordable automatic car.

Tata Zest will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise, and it is expected to go on sale in the first week of July, 2014. While the petrol version will get the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, the oil burner is propelled by the 1.3-litre Quadrajet engine. Both the engines will be paired to a five-speed manual gearbox while the oil burner is coupled to an automated manual transmission gearbox.

Tata Motors will also add this AMT gearbox in other cars such as Nano, Bolt and few more. This AMT gearbox offers hassle free driving as it does not require a clutch pedal. The driver can alter the gears either fully automatically or sequentially. Moreover, the company also has high hopes with its new turbo-petrol Revotron engine. The new engine will also get three driving modes- Sports, Comfort and Cruise for performance or fuel efficiency, which can be selected via a button.

The Tata Zest compact sedan will also get several advanced features including EPAS with active return function and speed sensitive power steering developed by ZF. The other features include Harman infotainment system with MapmyIndia navigation, 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, smart voice recognition, advanced smartphone integration and others.
