Tata Motors, the homegrown automaker has introduced a new mid-level – Tigor XM – variant in the Indian market. Positioned above XE entry-level variant, this styleback is priced at Rs 4.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Tata Tigor XM variant is around Rs 40,000 more than the base XE variant.
This new second-level variant has all the features that are accessible in the base XE variant. Additionally, the mid-sized sedan gets an additional package comprising of full wheel covers, follow me home headlamps, LED fuel gauge internally adjustable ORVMs, and central locking. The new variant is available in both petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol variant is a 1.2-litre Revotron unit producing 84bhp and 114Nm of torque, the oil burner is a 1.05-litre 3-cylinder motor that is good for 69bhp and 140Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.

This new variant bridges the huge gap between the XE and XT variants. Before XM launch, the price gap between the base and XM variant was close to 70,000, which is pretty high in this price sensitive market.
