Tata Altroz Urban Car Teased; Global Debut On 5th March
Tata Altroz is reported to launch in India in August, 2019.
Tata Altroz, the premium hatchback from the home-grown carmaker, has been confirmed for the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS). Ahead of the its global debut, the company has dropped yet another teaser of the hatchback revealing its side profile. Promoted as “Urban Car Refined”, the Tata Altroz will make its way to India in coming months.
Based on the 45X concept, the new Tata hatchback will face challenge from cars like Maruti Suzuki Balneo and Hyundai Elite i20. As far as pricing is concerned, it’s estimated to cost around Rs 5.50 lakh for the base variant and up to Rs 9 lakh for the high-spec model.
Tata Altroz Teaser
The Tata Altroz will carry the brand’s new-generation IMPACT 2.0 design language. The teasers confirm that the hatchback will feature upswept window line, rear door handles integrated into the C-pillars and straight roofline. Upfront, the car will get signature humanity line and sporty grille with headlamps. The taillamps are likely to be carried over from the Tata Harrier SUV.
Interior of the Tata Altroz will receive some major practical changes. Though, it’s likely to retain the futuristic design theme. The hatch will have an instrument cluster with squared edges, a rotary dial for shifting modes and electronic parking brake. Read: Tata Altroz – 5 Interesting Facts
Under the hood, the Tata Altroz is likely to feature a 1.2L turbocharged petrol and 1.5L turob diesel motors borrowed from the Nexon. Though, both powertrains could be tuned for generating more power and deliver better performance. Transmission choices might include a manual unit and a dual-clutch unit (with petrol variants).
