Tata Altroz Enters Into India Book of Records – 1,603kms in 24 hours

Tata Altroz premium hatchback has marked its name into the India Book of Records after covering a maximum distance of 1,603kms in 24 hours. The journey was undertaken by Pune-based Devjeet Saha who completed a 24-hour round trip from Satara to Bengaluru and back to Pune between December 15th and December 16th, 2020. On commenting on winning the accolade, he said, that “the ride and handling of the car made the voyage not only comfortable but also an exhilarating one”.  The hatchback made an entry to the 15th edition of the India Book of Records (for 2020).

In order to commemorate the first anniversary of the Tata Altroz, the carmaker recently introduced the more powerful iTurbo variants. The model receives a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol motor that’s good enough for 110bhp and 140Nm of torque. All three Altroz iTurbo variants are available with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Its claimed mileage stands at 18.13kmpl. Compared to the naturally-aspirated petrol motor, the new turbo unit is 28% more powerful and 24% torquier. It offers Sport and City driving modes.

The Tata Altroz iTurbo XT variant has been priced at Rs 7.74 lakh and the XZ and XZ+ variants cost Rs 8.46 lakh and Rs 8.86 lakh respectively. The hatchback’s naturally-aspirated petrol models are available in the price range of Rs 5.70 lakh – Rs 8.26 lakh. Prices of the diesel variants start from Rs 7.00 and go up to Rs 9.46 lakh. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.

Recently, the carmaker rolled out special Founders Edition of Tiago, Altroz, Nexon and Harrier. Available only for Tata Group employees, the new special editions have JRD’s signature on the fender and Blue background for Tata badge. In coming 22nd February, the company is ready to launch the new Tata Safari SUV that will come with 6 and 7-seats configuration and Harrier’s 170bhp, 2.0L Kryotech diesel engine. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.
