The sportier looking Maruti Suzuki Ignis S-Urban concept has been unveiled at GIIAS 2017

Suzuki, the Japanese automaker has unveiled two new Ignis concepts at the 2017 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. One of them is the Ignis S-Urban Concept, which is basically designed keeping off-road, rally-spec product in mind. The Suzuki S-Urban concept exterior styling is inspired from the rally-spec cars. On the exterior, the compact crossover has a black plastic off-road spec bumper that has integrated fog lamps. The vehicle gets a new 6-slot vertical grille, thick black plastic front and rear fenders, rocker panel guards, etc. It comes equipped with gun metal rally rims shod with chunky off-road tyres. Other design highlights include hood scoop, roof rails and black outside rear view mirrors. The vehicle is equipped with a bolder plastic bumper at the rear and a new roof mounted spoiler. The concept SUV is draped in a dual tone orange and white exterior. In order to add sporty feel, the Japanese automaker has added contrasting silver graphics.

The cabin of the concept is largely identical to the regular Ignis, but it will have some sporty features. The vehicle could get sportier dual-tone seats with contrasting stitches, all-black scheme and flat-bottom steering. Under the bonnet of the Ignis S-Urban concept is a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder K-Series petrol engine that also powers the India-spec model. This engine is capable of producing 82bhp of power and 113Nm of torque. A five-speed manual gearbox is offered as standard, while a 5-speed AGS (Auto Gear Shift) or AMT unit is available as optional.
