The Suzuki Burgman Street will be India’s first maxi-scooter.

Suzuki Burgman Street 125cc scooter is all set to hit showrooms in India tomorrow (i.e. 19th July, 2018). Interestingly, it will be India’s first maxi-scooter and third 125cc scooter from the Japanese two-wheeler maker in the country. First showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Suzuki Burgman will be the company’s flagship scooter that will sit above the Access 125.

As far as the pricing is concerned, Suzuki’s new 125cc scooter is estimated to be around Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 pricier than the Access 125 SE that costs Rs 60,580 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Official price will be revealed tomorrow at the launch event in Delhi. In the 125cc scooter segment, the Suzuki Burgman Street will rival the Honda Grazia, Aprilia SR 125 and TVS NTorq. Suzuki’s new scooter will share its powertrain with the Access 125 – i.e. 124.3cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled unit. This motor pushes out a maximum power of 8.6bhp at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. Most of the components such as suspension mechanism and braking system are also carried over from the Suzuki Access 125. The scooter comes fitted with the telescopic fork up front and monoshock rear suspension units. Braking system includes disc and drum unit at the front and rear axles respectively. Upfront, the Suzuki Burgman features a large apron and windscreen giving it a unique look. Interestingly, it will be India’s first scooter to an all-digital instrument console borrowed from the Suzuki Gixxer. The list of features also includes LED tail-lamp, a multi-function key slot, a 12V charging socket and generous underseat storage.
