Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the facelifted Swift hatch in the Indian car market, which has received some mild tweaks to both exteriors and interiors. However, the mechanical section of the car remains unchanged. The smart tweaks will keep things fresh in the market. This could be the move to counter the newly launched Hyundai Elite i20 and the Volkswagen Polo. Moreover, the Swift facelift has already entered into the production indicating a near launch.

The VXi trim also gets DRLs, but the wheel arches have been fitted to steel wheels covered with newly designed wheel caps instead of alloys. Both models come with an option of selecting between body coloured or chrome door handles.
There are some additional equipment to be offered with top-end model such as electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, auto-up feature for the driver’s side power window, new seat upholstery and keyless entry. The other changes are very minimal like new exterior shades, slightly tweaked bumper, etc. Under the bonnet isthe same 1.2-litre K Series petrol and the 1.3-litre oil burner. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. It is also expected to get automatic variant; however, nothing concrete on the same have been revealed.
