Volkswagen Group owned Skoda Auto India has now launched a special edition of its flagship entry level sedan Rapid called the Rapid Leisure at a starting price of Rs 7.79 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Rapid Leisure edition will host a lot of exciting features like portable navigation system with rear view camera, 15 inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and leatherette seat covers. Skoda Rapid Leisure edition will be made available for a limited period only across the country.
The Rapid Leisure edition has been made available in both 1.6L petrol Manual Transmission, 1.6L Petrol Automatic Transmission and the diesel variant, priced at Rs 7,79,352, 8,79,625 and 9,06,926 respectively (prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi).
The 1.6-litre petrol engine has the capacity to churn out the maximum power of around 103bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. While the 1.6-litre TDI engine of the Skoda Rapid produces 105bhp and 250Nm torque. Skoda India that hasn’t launched an entirely new product for about 2 years is now planning to bring in the Skoda Octavia in the replacement for Laura, which hasn’t been doing any good for the company.
