British luxury car marquee, Jaguar has now finally launched the all new F-TYPE in India, which represents a return to the company’s heartland: a two seater convertible sports car focused on performance, agility and driver involvement. Joining the XK convertible and coupe line-up, the new F-Type has come as one more option to the people looking for sports and GT F-models from Jaguar.
Made available in two variants in India- F-Type S and F-Type V8S, the all new Jaguar F-Type will derive its power from two powerful mills 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol and 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol. While the 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine powered version churns out 380PS output, the 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine has the capacity to produce 495PS. The range-topping F-TYPE V8S will reach 100 kmph in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 300 kmph. The 380PS V6 F-TYPE S will reach 100 kmph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 275 kmph.
Addressing the media at the F-Type launch, Rohit Suri, Vice President, Jaguar & Land Rover India said: “The Jaguar F-TYPE is our all-new, two seater sports car and we believe it will be a game changer for the Indian sports car market. With its stunning design and driver focused engineering, this car will further enhance the appeal of our brand and I am confident that it will arouse senses and stir emotions like no other car in India”.
Prices for the Jaguar F-TYPE S are INR 1.37 Crore and for the range topping F-TYPE V8S are INR 1.61 Crore. (Ex-showroom Mumbai, pre- Octroi). Jaguar India has registered sales growth of 68% in the first quarter of this fiscal year. This growth has been helped by the locally assembled Jaguar XF 2.2 litre diesel, which was launched earlier this calendar year.
