Renault's sub-compact SUV

We reported earlier that Renault is working on a sub-compact SUV, which is likely to be positioned below the Duster SUV. This low-cost crossover has been spotted testing again, revealing few details. The fresh spyshots suggesting a sub-compact crossover featuring the Renault badge, and it seems to be inspired with Sandero and features simple front fascia.

This crossover is also speculated to be positioned below the Captur in European market. The urban crossover features puny wheels that are wrapped around with thin tires, which indicates the company intent of offering low cost product to its buyers. It sports a single windscreen wiper, while the ORVMs visible are not likely to see production day. The rear too looks simple, while the tail lamps look largely resembles the Captur.

It is quite early to comment whether this sub-compact SUV will make its way to the Indian car market or not. Giving the high demand for sub-4 metre SUVs, we believe that the company could bring this product in the market. It is expected that the European spec model will be sold under Dacia badge.

The new Renault subcompact crossover is expected to be launched by the end of next year. It is also speculated to be manufactured either in Tangier, Morocco or at Renault’s newly developed manufacturing unit in Oran, Algeria.
