Ultra luxury car manufacturer Porsche has introduced the Macan SUV in the Indian car market at a starting price of Rs. 1 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). This lifestyle SUV sits below the Cayenne SUV in terms of size.
The Porsche Macan SUV is offered in two trim options- Macan S diesel and the top-of-the line Macan Turbo. The Macan S diesel is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that is capable of developing a maximum power output of 258bhp and 580Nm of top torque. This model takes 6.3 seconds to reach 0-100kmph and hits a top speed of 230kmph. On the other hand, the Macan Turbo has the 3.6-litre bi-turbo petrol engine that is capable of producing 400bhp of max power and 550Nm of top torque. This model zoom pass 0-100kmph barrier in mere 4.8 seconds and attains a top speed of 266kmph. Both variant will feature PDK and all-wheel drive as standard.

The Macan SUV shares its styling cues with the Cayenne SUV; however, the rear profile is different which is equipped with a tailgate mounted spoiler and slender taillights. It has the LED-infused headlights, a sloping roofline and curvaceous bodywork. Based on the Volkswagen’s MLB platform, the vehicle gets ride height adjustable air suspension system, all-wheel drive, bi-xenon headlamps, 3-zone automatic claimte control and interior lighting package as standard features. Interiors of the Macan SUV also sourced from the Cayenne, as the three spoke steering wheel, dashboard and centre console are directly lifted from its bigger sibling.
