Mercedes-Benz India has finally launched the performance oriented- CLA 45 AMG in India. It is the company’s cheapest AMG product in India. The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is priced at Rs. 68.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be available for sales across all Mercedes-Benz India dealerships in India.
Unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is based on the outgoing CLA sedan. This AMG spec performance car is equipped with AMG body kit including a sporty front bumper, side skits and a rear bumper which has a diffuser with quad chrome-tipped exhausts. It shares most of its styling components with the A45 AMG and the large panoramic sunroof add to its sporty feel. The AMG spec front grille has 3D logo, carbon body work and its flared wheel arches have been fitted to 5-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin, the Mercedes-Benz CLA 25 AMG gets carbon fibre inserts, X-shaped air con vents, AMG sport steering wheel, AMG badging with AMG specific seats and red seat belts. Its sporty instrument cluster has round black dials, carbon fibre design, silver/red needles and new speedometer. The instrument cluster comes with a distinguished 2-tube look. The vehicle also gets AMG floor mats and illuminated door sill panels with “AMG” lettering and AMG Performance seats in perforated leather black RED CUT with 4-way lumbar support. Based on the same Modular Front Architecture (MFA) platform that also underpins the A-Class and B-Class hatchback, the CLA 45 AMG comes to India via CBU (Completely Built-in Unit) route.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG features the world’s most powerful 4-cylinder engine. It gets the 2.0-litre direct injection turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of developing a top power output of 355bhp at 6000rpm and a peak torque of 450Nm at 2250-5000rpm. This engine is paired to the DCT 7-speed sport transmission which sends the power to all the wheels through a 4MATCI system. The CLA 45 AMG accelerates to 100kmph from standstill in mere 4.6 seconds and it hits an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is 4,691mm long, 1,777mm wide and 1,416mm high, and it offers a large boot space of 470-litres which can accommodate 4 suitcases easily. The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is equipped with several comfort and convenience features including COMAND Online, Active Parking Assist, Reversing Camera, Driver’s and passenger’s seat are electrically adjustable with memory function, central locking system, THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control and few more.
On safety front, the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG has nine airbags, adaptive brakes with hold function as well as attention assist, Bi-xenon headlamps, tyre pressure monitoring system, the Electronic stability program including ESP Curve Dynamic Assist, etc.
