October 7, 2016 – Nissan India has introduced the Terrano 6-speed Advanced Auto Drive (AMT) in the country. To be available only on the top-spec XVD grade, the Nissan Terrano AMT is priced within the range of Rs 13.75 lakh – Rs 13.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). One can pre-book the car by paying a sum of Rs. 25,000 at Nissan dealerships across the country. Deliveries of the vehicle will be commenced later this month. Along with the AMT gearbox, Nissan offers 14 new enhancements across the entire range of the Terrano compact SUV. The vehicle also gets a new body shade – Sandstone Brown.

Similar to the Renault Duster, the Nissan Terrano AMT (Automatic) receives the Easy-R AMT gearbox only on the 110PS diesel variant. The Terrano’s new AMT version comes as an option for buyers looking for a hassle-free city drivability with a comfort of a SUV.

The Easy-R transmission consists of computer-controlled electromechanical actuators that help driver with clutching operations and changing gears. This system offers two optional modes – ‘Manual’ (impulse shift) and ‘Drive’ (automatic). The 1.5-litre diesel powertrain of the compact SUV is tuned to deliver two different power outputs – 85PS (83.8bhp) and 110PS (108.5bhp). The torque figures of the former stand at 200Nm produced at 1900rpm, while the latter one offers 248Nm at 2250rpm. This automatic version is paired to a 6-speed Easy-R AMT gearbox unit, supported by front-wheel drivetrain system.
