The Nissan Terra SUV, that’s retailed in several Asian markets, has scored five stars safety rating in the recently conducted crash test by the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries). The SUV achieved 83.17 points out of 100, in overall protection with commendable scores on adult and child occupancy.

The Asia-spec Nissan Terra comes packed with the standard six airbags and ISOFIX child mount along with optional ABS (anti-lock braking system), blind spot warning, ESC (electronic stability control) and lane departure warning. Read – 4 New Nissan, Datsun Cars Launching Within 12 Months

First previewed at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show, the Nissan Terra is the spiritual successor of the Nissan Pathfinder. This premium 7-seater SUV makes use of a 2.5-litre diesel engine that comes with two transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic. The oil burner is claimed to return power worth 188bhp with 450Nm of torque. The SUV is offered with 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system.

The Japanese carmaker might bring in the Terra SUV in the Indian market. The company has confirmed it will expand its Indian product portfolio with global models including six new SUVs. The Nissan Kicks compact SUV will be the first one to arrive in the market. The carmaker will also introduce its globally popular Nissan Leaf electric car.
