Design and styling of the Nissan Terra seems inspired by the Navara pickup, especially its front fascia. The latest pictures reveal that the SUV carries LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a larger V-Motion grille and revised bumper. These bits make it look different from its donor sibling. The SUV also shares the body-on-frame platform with its pickup sibling.
Features such as pronounced wheel arches and bold creases enhance its muscular side appearance. Though, it’s devoid of black plastic cladding or flares. Round the back, the SUV sports a unique taillamp assembly connected through a chrome trim. Read About – Nissan Note e-Power | New Nissan Leaf
Successor to the Nissan Paladin (aka Nissan Xterra), the Terra sits on a 2,850mm long wheelbase and measures 4,882mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,835mm in height. It has a ground clearance of 220mm. The approach and departure angles stand at 33° and 26° respectively. Check Out – New Nissan Micra Pictures & Launch Details
Most of its interior design bits and components are also borrowed from the Navara. The Chinese-spec Nissan Terra features a dual zone climate automatic control system, leather seats and seven-seats, three-row layout. The dashboard and trim are carried over from its pickup sibling. Other highlights include wood trim, touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control and engine start-stop button.
For the Chinese market, the Terra SUV will be offered with the naturally-aspirated 2.4-litre petrol engine that’s good for 184bhp (184PS). Transmission on offer will include a 6-speed manual unit as standard and an optional 7-speed automatic gearbox. The select variants of the SUV will get 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system.
Nissan’s all-new 7-seater SUV will first see a release in China on April 12, 2018. As of now, there is no news about its India launch. Even if India is on the launch radar, the Nissan Terra 7-seater SUV will take head-to-head against the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Tata’s upcoming 7-seater SUV – H7X will also be one among its closest rivals.
