All New Nissan Terra SUV has been unveiled for the South East Asian markets in Philippines. This 7-seater premium SUV made its global debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April, 2018. Based on the Nissan Navara pickup, the Terra SUV will be a spiritual successor of the Pathfinder. With attributes such as robust body-built and 7-seats layout, the Nissan Terra makes sense for the Indian market. Nissan Terra 7 Seater SUV Exterior

Design and styling of the Nissan Terra seems inspired by the Navara pickup, especially its front fascia. The SUV carries LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a larger V-Motion grille and revised bumper. These bits make it look different from its donor sibling. The SUV also shares the body-on-frame platform with its pickup sibling.

Dimensions

Unlike the China-spec model, the South East Asia version is 3mm longer and 15mm wider. While the former measures 4,882mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,835mm in height, the latter one is 4,885mm long, 1,865mm wide and 1,835mm tall. Nissan’s new SUV sits on a 2,850mm long wheelbase. It has a massive ground clearance of 225mm enhancing its drivability on rough terrains. Nissan Terra 7 Seater SUV Interior

Most of its interior design bits and components are carried over from the Navara pickup. The Chinese-spec Nissan Terra features a dual zone climate automatic control system, leather seats and seven-seats, three-row layout. The dashboard and trim are borrowed from its pickup sibling. In the Philippines, the SUV will be offered with multi-function steering wheel, 8-way power adjustable driver’s seat, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth connectivity. Though, these features will be reserved for the top-spec trim.

Other highlights include wood trim, dual tone (Black and Grey) themed interior, touchscreen infotainment system, dual pod instrument clusters with a MID unit, cruise control and engine start-stop button. With respect to safety, the Nissan Terra SUV gets six airbags, Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, Smart Rear View Mirror, Blind Spot Warning and Lane Departure Warning.

The Philippines-spec Terra derives its power from a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel motor that also does duty in the Navara pickup. The power and torque output of the oil burner stand at 188bhp and 450Nm respectively. The SUV can be brought either with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. The 4X4 drivetrain system with a locking differential and Hill Start Assist and Descent Control is standard across the carline.

For the Chinese market, the Terra SUV is offered with the naturally-aspirated 2.4-litre petrol engine that’s good for 184bhp (184PS). Transmissions on offer include a 6-speed manual unit as standard and an optional 7-speed automatic gearbox. The select variants of the SUV get 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system.

Nissan Terra SUV India Launch

Nissan’s all-new 7-seater SUV first broke cover at the Beijing Motor Show in China. As of now, there is no news about its India launch. Even if India is on the launch radar, the Nissan Terra 7-seater SUV will lock horns against multiple cars like Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Isuzu MU-X and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. Tata’s upcoming 7-seater SUV – H7X will also be one among its closest rivals.

In the Philippines, the Nissan Terra has been launched in five trims – Mid 4X2 (MT), Mid 4X2 (AT), High 4X2 (AT), Premium 4X2 (AT) and Premium 4X4 (AT) – priced between PhP 1,499,000 – PhP 2,096,000.
