Under the bonnet is the same 5.2-litre direct-injected V10 engine that also powers the LP 610-4; however, the engine has been tuned to deliver more power. This engine is claimed to return 620bhp of top power. Interestingly, the vehicle has the all-wheel drive configuration for a rear-wheel-drive setup which further enhances its racing proficiency. This set-up will make this supercar around 150kg lighter than the standard model.

The Huracan LP 620-2 Super Trofeo racecar is developed by Lamborghini’s motorsports division, Squadra Corsa, and racecar chassis experts, Dallara. The aerodynamics of this supercar offer better efficiency, traction and downforce using a ten-position rear wing, front and rear diffusers as well as adjustable front air intakes. The Huracán Super Trofeo will be exclusively-equipped with Pirelli tires engineered specifically for this application.

Mr. Maurizio Reggiani, Board Member and Director of Research and Development for Automobili Lamborghini, said, ‘‘The Huracán Super Trofeo is an all-new car built from scratch with a clear racing concept. We believe the car will be as fun for fans to watch as it will be rewarding for our racers to drive.’’
