New Honda Civic and Mahindra XUV300 Launching In February 2019

Mahindra XUV300 and Honda Civic will be launched in the 2nd and 3rd week of February, 2019 respectively.

January 2019 will witness the launch of some of the most-anticipated models like Tata Harrier, Nissan Kicks and new-gen Maruti Wagon R. Coming February, the Indian market will witness the re-introduction of the iconic Honda Civic nameplate. Not just Civic, Mahindra will introduce the long-awaited XUV300 sub-4 meter compact SUV.

Honda had showcased the 10th generation Civic sedan at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, but the Japanese automaker will bring in the facelifted model. In fact, the 2019 Civic has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. Compared to the pre-facelift model, the new model gets smoked headlamps, C-shaped chrome appliques on the fog lamp housings, a gloss black finish for the grille, full-width diffuser on the front bumper and chrome treatment on the rear bumper. The sedan also gets two exterior paint schemes – Platinum White Pearl & Molten Lava Pearl.

Inside the cabin, the Civic facelift gets an upgraded 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Support. For the first, the Civic will come with diesel fuel option in India. It will get a new 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine that produces 118bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. The petrol version will get the same 140bhp, 1.8-litre i-VTEC engine.

Talking about the Mahindra XUV300, the sub-4 meter SUV is based on the SsangYong’s X100 platform that also underpins the Tivoli SUV. It is the third Mahindra SUV to be based on the monocoque chassis. The XUV300 will directly rival the likes of Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza and the upcoming Hyundai’s sub-4 meter SUV. It is equipped with several segment-leading features like all-4 disc brakes, dual-zone climate control, factory-fitted sunroof, smart steering, cruise control, etc.

It is powered by a new 1.5-litre diesel engine that also powers the Marazzo. This engine produces 123bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. The gasoline version of the SUV will receive the new 1.2-litre engine that can produce up to 135PS of power. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. AMT unit will be made available on a later stage.
