The 2019 Maruti WagonR comes in the price range of Rs 4.19 lakh – Rs 5.69 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has finally rolled out the new-generation WagonR hatchback at a starting price of Rs 4.19 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Maruti WagonR 2019 is made available in three trims – Lxi, VXi and ZXi – with a 1.0L petrol and a 1.2L petrol engine option. While the 1.0L variants are priced between Rs 4.19 lakh – Rs 5.16 lakh, the 1.2L models’s price ranges from Rs 4.89 lakh to Rs 5.69 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Similar to the previous generation, the new Maruti WagonR 2019 features the tall-boy design. Though, it gets some crossover-ish styling bits along with a high ground clearance. Interior has more space and features to offer with slightly better material quality. The 2019 Maruti Wagon R also gets a new touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone integration as we have seen in the new Swift. At the engine front, the 2019 Maruti WagonR retains the old 67bhp, 1.0-litre K-Series petrol unit with a 5-speed manual and AGS gearbox options. In terms of design and quality, the 2019 WagonR hatchback is surely more upmarket than the old model. While the exterior design has a crossover-ish touch, the interior gets better fit and finish and quality material. Engine setup, however, remains unchanged. With the comprehensive aesthetic and feature upgrades, the new 2019 Maruti WagonR saw a minor price hike. While the old model was available in the price range of Rs 4.10 lakh – Rs 5.31 lakh, the new-generation version is priced at Rs 4.19 lakh for the base variant and Rs 5.69 lakh for the top-spec trim. New Maruti Wagon R 2019 Specifications
As mentioned beginning, the 2019 Maruti Wagon R retains the old 1.0L K-Series petrol engine. Though, it receives a new 1.2L petrol motor sourced from the Swift hatchback. The smaller capacity gasoline unit continues to deliver a maximum power output of 67bhp at 6,200rpm and a peak torque of 91Nm at 3,500rpm. Packed with the 1.0L engine, the hatchback can accelerate 100kmph from standstill in 18.6 seconds, and attain a top speed of 152kmph. The new 1.2L petrol engine, on the other hand, delivers a peak power of 82bhp with 113Nm of torque. Similar to the previous generation, the 2019 Maruti WagonR comes with the conventional 5-speed gearbox and Maruti’s Auto GearShift (AGS)/AMT.
New Maruti WagonR 2019 Mileage
The 2019 Maruti WagonR is high on fuel economy. The carmaker has calibrated the 1.0L gasoline motor for achieving better fuel economy. New Maruti WagonR 2019 Exterior
Sporting an all-new design language, the 2019 Maruti WagonR appears more refreshing than the previous generation. Unlike the JDM-spec model that has more MPV-ish and flat profile, the India-spec version carries some crossover-ish styling bits. Though, the hatchback retains the signature tall-boy stance and body design. The hatchback sits on the new HEARTECT platform that also underpins the new Swift, Dzire, Ignis and Ertiga. Upfront, the new Maruti WagonR 2019 features a new grille, sweptback headlamps, revised bumper and a slightly longer hood. The positioning of the ORVMs has also been changed. The pronounced fenders and bold side creases give it a new side look. At the rear, the hatchback sports newly-designed horizontal tail lamps and a flat bumper. As mentioned in the beginning, the 2019 Maruti WagonR is slightly longer (60mm), wider (145mm), taller (25mm)and more spacious than the previous generation. It also has more cabin space for occupants. Now, the hatchback measures 3,655mm in length, 1,620mm in width and 1,675mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,435mm.
New Maruti WagonR 2019 Interior
Interior has also received some major changes. While the dashboard and instrument console gets an all-new design, the steering wheel and air con vents are replaced with new units. Compared to the previous generation, the new Maruti WagonR 2019 is surely safer. The hatchback’s new model has better structural integrity, thanks to its new platform and body built that composed of 40% high tensile steel. The vehicle gets dual air bags and ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution), speed alert system, front seat belts reminder and rear parking sensors as standard.
